Finchley Squash & Padel

Padel courts in the London Borough of Barnet

Four venues, all pay-and-play: Finchley, Whetstone, Brent Cross Town and Arkley.

Barnet holds more padel courts than any other North London borough, and unlike its squash clubs, every one of them sells court time to anyone who books.

The practical split: two value-tier outdoor sites and two all-weather indoor ones. If you play year-round and hate cancellations, pay the indoor premium. If you play April to October and care about cost per head, the Padel Tree sites are the cheapest structured court sport in the borough.

What changed in 2026

S3 Padel Brent Cross, the largest indoor site in the area, stopped taking bookings on 4 May 2026. Those courts are gone from NW4 and the operator has moved to 255 Finchley Road in Camden, opening late summer 2026 with ten outdoor courts. The immediate effect inside Barnet is more competition for slots at Summers Lane and Whetstone, particularly at the midnight release seven days ahead.

Cost per player

Court hire is priced per court and padel is doubles, so divide by four. At the Padel Tree off-peak rate of £30 that is £7.50 each. Run your own numbers, including racket hire and frequency, in the padel cost calculator.

Squash in the same borough

Barnet’s three squash clubs are all members-only — see squash courts in Barnet. If you are moving across from squash, read padel for squash players before booking.
